March 09 Here I am!!!!!!!Hi everyone. Sorry that I haven't been blogging. I was pretty much sick the month of February with a cold and sinus infection. I still have some issues with it but better.
Well as you can see from Steve's blog, I am pregnant. I am 10 weeks, 2 days as far as we know. I am hoping to keep off the weight for my pregnancy so I'm still trying to watch what I eat. This past week wasnt so good though. I was bad. I know I ate a lot of salty food. I still try to watch my portions though because if I overeat I get really sick to my stomach. I haven't had morning sickness so that has been great. I just can't eat greasy foods which is good, I don't like the smell of raw meat cooking. Yuck! I'm excited about the baby but I'm also nervous. I have babysat so many children in my life but never had one of my own. I hope I'll be a good mom. Well have to go for now, Steve's crackin the whip. Gotta get movin so I don't sit around lazy all day. Have a great day and week everyone.
Tam March 08 Finally posting againAfter several weeks of not posting, we have a lot of catching up to do. First of all, I (Steve) am going to recommit to losing weight again. I have been eating way too many of the wrong things and too often over the last several weeks and it has shown with the 4 pound weight gain. I also haven't been exercising half of what I need to be. I kept blaming on it and the fact that we've both been sick and all the hours of shoveling snow taking away from the time set aside for working out. Truth is, there has been plenty of opportunity, I just keep making excuses.
Even though Tammy has had some weight fluctuatitions, her doctor is happy with her progress. She is still down from her starting weight and the doctor just wants her to continue to maintain or lose weight throughout the pregnancy. She had her first pre-natal checkup and everything is going well. She is having her first ultrasound next week to confirm how far along she is. We found out the due date is October 3rd which is just 2 days before Tammy's birthday.
Well, it's time to start cleaning up the house. Trying to keep moving today without sitting on our butts all day. February 02 Week 3 Weigh InWell today is my third weigh in and I lost 2.2 pounds. I still feel like it could have been more. But I'll take it anyway. I have changed my eating habits for the better so things should start happening. I don't take seconds anymore. I eat til I'm full and that's it. I'm really glad that we are all in this together, and to know there are other people struggling like me.
New subject, is work sucked this week. I try to get ahead or even catch up and I feel like I'm drowning. Now we have to meet certain sales numbers a week and month and I don't know if I can do it. I try and try but it seems like my customers sometimes don't order as much. I've worked in retail before so I know how to suggestive sell but it's a little different in my line of work now. I sell parts to the auto plants. So I have that to deal with and try to lose weight.
I've been really nervous and worked up this week too. Steve and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost a year now. That's what really got me started to do this because I thought I was too fat. Well, we took 3 home tests last weekend and they all came up positive, and I took one more to be sure on Wednesday and it came up positive again. I'm so excited but scared at the same time. I don't want the doctor to tell me on Tuesday that I'm really not. I would be so devastated. I guess I'm just nervous because I don't feel all the things that people tell you that they felt. I haven't gotten sick yet, but I have felt other things they said I would. Plus, I have high bloodpressure, which is why I've been trying to lose weight too. I wasn't going to spill the beans about the baby yet so Steve will be surprised I did because I told him I was going to wait till Tuesday. But I wanted to see if I could be calmed down.
One last thing, tonight we are going to our friend Rosie's birthday party, so this is big for us, one, all the food there and two, the alcohol. I won't drink but I have to fight the food temptations. Wish me luck and have a great week. I'll let you know how the doctors goes.
Tam January 26 Week 2 Weigh InI'm feeling a little fancy today. Steven's week 2 summaryI have mixed feelings this week. I'm happy I lost another 4 pounds. I'm frustrated for Tammy because she gained .2 pounds though. I feel especially bad because this is the first week she hasn't missed any workouts and we ate healthier this week than most weeks. We've both cut soda almost completely out of our lives. I hope she sees that this week was probably just a fluke and continues to be commited to this program for her health.
It's been easier for me to avoid eating out for lunch due to my new schedule at work. For those of you who don't know me, I work for one of the auto companies in an assembly plant that was closed. Until last week, I was working out in the plant helping remove and ship equipment to other plants. When I was doing that, I had the opportunity and I usually took it to get fast food about 3 times a week for lunch. A couple of typical meals was usually a loaded sub at quiznos along with a soup, pop and a cookie or brownie. If I got chinese it was a lunch combo along with an appetizer and two cans of soda. I didn't think about it until now, but I was eating probably 2 to 3 meals worth of calories all for lunch. Anyways, I am not out in the plant anymore, I am sitting in the jobs bank area along with 200 people waiting to be transferred to another plant. I don't have the opportunity to spend alot of time outside the plant getting lunch, so I have been packing a breakfast and lunch everyday. I've been trying to stick to basic nutrition rules and I take a bowl of cereal (non-super-sugar type) and a fruit for breakfast. Then I usually take leftovers from dinner and another fruit for lunch. For dinner, I try to cook only what we should have for dinner and enough for lunch. This usually means 4 portions each of a grilled or broiled meat, steamed vegetable, and either a potato, rice, or pasta. We're going to try to reduce our desserts (ice cream cone or sherbert) from 4-5 times/week to 2-3. I'm personally shooting to limit my beverages to water, except for the one cup of coffee I have in the morning.
